Taste Testers at Snobby Dog Bakery

A home isn't a home without a dog...(or in my case, 5 dogs)

Mickey

(14 year old Sheltie) believes it is his lot in life to tattle on the others when they are out of line. His favorite place to sleep is on his back wedged between the toilet and bathtub. I'm not quite sure what that is all about, but, he seems happy, so I just smile and let him sleep. He's getting crabby in his old age...like an old man, we just let him do 'his thing' and ignore his ever changing moods and constant naps.

Fran

(10 year old Border Collie), my introduction to the breed...this wonderful girl was a birthday gift from a very good friend, Bonnie Harris of Wildair Border Collies....I instantly fell in love with her and named her after St. Francis, saint of animals. Franny is still featured on Wildair's website as she has contributed to the breed in many ways. Franny has excelled at everything she's done. You name it, she can do it: herding, AKC Champion (in 4 shows I might add), Frisbee and agility. At the age of 9, we tried our hand at flyball with the Spok-9s team...one year later, she has her Flyball Master title and can run 100 feet in 4.5 seconds...not bad for an old lady.

Eleanor

(8 year old Border Collie), this woman is a handful! Eleanor is from Fran's first litter and was born with a perfect lower case "e" on the back of her neck (now that she is older, it just looks like chicken scratch). Elly is a counter surfer and she always manages to be able to reach the one thing on the counter you thought was far enough back. Although Elly was never a show dog, she has a huge heart that could easily win the biggest ribbon.

Meisie (Macy)

(7 year old Border Collie), this little girl came to me via a friend of a friend who didn't like her 'type'. Meisie came from South Africa from some of the best breeders in the country. She loves to 'sing' in the morning, which, I must admit is cute...until I realized she doesn't have a snooze button and will keep on 'singing' until I get out of bed to feed her breakfast. Meisie was found to have hip displasia at an early age which ended her show career, but I don't think she minds the easy life here at home.

LizBeth

(1 year old Border Collie). Lizzy B (one of her names) is a Franny granddaughter out of Morgan at Pawcific Border Collies in Camis Washington. Shown here with a roll of masking tape stuck around her nose, she is quite the handful and chews on everything she can get to. As I sit here now, she got in the bathroom, spilled my coffee, then got into a roll of toilet paper (after it soaked up the spilled coffee-yum). In the passed year, several shoes have been sacrificed as has a cell phone, newspapers, leashes, blankets and things I have yet to discover. Lizzy is pursuing a flyball career like grandma and plans to make her debut this fall at Argus Ranch for Dogs near Seattle.

LizBeth has a full sister, Pawcific Starry Night "Ella" owned by Nicole Velotta (Starlight Border Collies) who is also training in flyball, the sisters will probably compete against each other this fall at Argus Ranch for Dogs near Seattle. Ella got to meet Franny, her grandmother at one of the flyball tournaments last fall. Their picture is shown at the bottom of Nicole's page.
